The Cheerleaders are DEAD
The weather was always breathtaking in the beautiful town of Lanshire. It was a home to huge daffodil gardens spread all across the town.
But....
It was also the home for the most horrendous murder mystery.
It all began in the year 2006. Girls started getting missing after school and their bodies were found days after in abandoned alleys. Earlier on, the cases were less frequent and hence after a few dead ends not much of importance was given to it. By the end of 2018, the cases increased drastically and a new case started appearing every week.
As the number of cases increased, the families started to abandon the town. In April 2019, Mayor Williams announced that if he doesn't get this mystery solved by the end of 2019, he would resign from his post.
A new detective, who was a specialist when it came to such cases, was appointed to work on the case . James Mayfair, a 21 year old detective from NY, who had topped all of his classes to start working on the field early.
He began investigating the case the very day he entered the town. He visited every victim's family, friends and neighbours to get their insights on the case.
He found out that all the murders had many similatities and were most likely committed by the same person or same gang. A lot of minute details were missed out in the initial investigation.
Was someone trying to distract the team?
OR
Was someone among the police department involved with the gang?
OR
Was it a severe case of negligence?
OR
Were the newly found clues a trap?
The clock was ticking. He had to do something in order to restore peace among the community. He decided to set up an open trap to save the other girls from getting murdered.
He knew whom to ask for help. His neighbour, Meg Murry, an aspiring detective readily volunteered for the task.
The most important clue was : The victims were in their cheerleading costumes. The previous investigators chose to ignore that. The girls weren't in their cheerleading outfits when they were last seen by their friends or neighbours.
Detective James sensed the danger and with the help of Mayor Williams issued an advisory stating that all the cheerleading activities were suspended till the further notice.
The cheerleaders were asked to stay at home and only attend school during exams where an adult has to compulsorily supervise them.
Finally, the trap was setup. After attending a friend's funeral, Meg went to one of her friend's house and left late at night.
Her house was only 2 blocks away, hence the risk was less. The policemen were all alert and ready to nab the convict.
When she reached at the start of her lane, the team thought that the plan has flopped. One by one, everyone started leaving and soon, half of them had left. In all this nuisance, Meg vanished into thin air.
It was too late. The murderer was among them. The plan was compromised. The bait was in danger. But no one except for Meg ans detective James knew that Meg had an earpiece attached to her.
She started giving secret coded messages regarding the location. It took some time but they decoded it pretty easily.
The next step was to make sure that Meg was alright. They couldn't risk her life for catching the murderer. The team arrived on scene and secured the perimeter around the cabin.
A team of 5 policemen went inside from the front door and tip toed to the second floor where she was kept hostage. As they went up, they saw that the murderer was in the other room on a call. They quickly freed her and attacked the murderer.
As soon as his mask was taken off, they realized it was none other than, The MAYOR. Their very own Mayor who was supposed to protect Lanshire was murdering innocent girls.
Williams in his confession agreed to killing all the cheerleaders . The Psycho killer murdered them because her sister was bullied by the cheerleaders back then. She committed suicide in 2006. Initially, he only killed those girls who were responsible for her sister's death but now his revenge turned into rage and he started killing all the cheerleaders.
According to the statement given by detective James, Williams mental health is unstable and he is looking up for a death penalty.
He appointed Detective James for gaining the trust of the people so that they would stop moving out. Due to Detective James' excellence , the mystery was solved within 3 months, much before the deadline.
Fast forward to July 2020,
It's been a year since the murders have stopped and slowly but gradually people have started moving back to Lanshire.
But...
This murder mystery will always haunt the residents and cheerleaders of Lanshire.
